She was previously a political candidate, as well as a television host at MSNBC and a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post and former host of The Hill's Rising alongside Saagar Enjeti. Enjeti and Ball announced in the month of May that they would be leaving the show to launch their own show, Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar. Ball is currently engaged to Jonathan Dariyanani, as of 2020. Ball attributes her increased political interest to the fact that she was the mother of 2008's primary elections. Additionally, she was a witness to the US election outcome while living in Jordan. She was able observe how the election affected those living in Jordan and became aware of the impact that US politics has on everyone around the globe. She was a Senior Fellow with the New Leaders Council. Ball was the Democratic Party nominee for Congress in Virginia's 1st congressional district during the 2010 election, losing to Republican incumbent Rob Wittman. From June 2012 through July 2015, she was host of the MSNBC show The Cycle. She founded the People's House Project (a political action committee that supports Democratic causes) in May 2017.
